Richard Wilcox, Head of Structured & Asset Finance, The Co-operative Bank

Richard was Credit Risk Manager of National Westminster Bank from 1977 – 88.

From 1988 – 94 he was Head of Commercial Lending for Unity Trust Bank, a joint venture between the Co-operative Bank and the major UK Trades Unions, formed to develop the concept of employee participations in UK Corporate Buy-outs.

Since 1994 he has been Head of Structured & Asset Finance at The Co-operative Bank and is responsible for specialised lending, including PFI / PPP, Renewable Energy Infrastructure and Microfinance.   This area has a total lending book of £3bn with a particular interest in facilitating lending and investment opportunities in the public sector to develop community infrastructure on a social and sustainable basis.

He is a non- Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for the Global Commercial Microfinance Consortium and is responsible for management of the Co-operative Bank’s $50m Microfinance Fund.
